collej.

Saw this ad in a Tidbits newsletter yesterday:

Now tell me, would YOU want to go to college somewhere that includes typos in their ads??

  1. I must be a moron, I don't see the typo (and I was a copy editor for 2 years!).

    HELP!

  2. That's funny! Yeah, I'm dumb, I didn't see it until I read Jon's comment. Ha, ha! Although formally is definitely the wrong word, isn't that how we pronounce formerly here in the south? Think about it. Well, it's how my southern accent pronounces it.

  3. Haha, you're right Kara - we do say it like that! Maybe the ad was called in, and the person who typed it just typed it like they heard it. :-)

Thanks for clearing it up, Jon! :-)

  4. Ah! Yes! See, I was looking for a mispelled word! Ge'ez, I need to get back into copy editing before I loose everything!

  5. I love what Amanda's comment actually says, and then how she wrote "loose." It's definitely "lose." Oh, and "mispelled" is actually "misspelled." I'm sorry if I'm being a grammar snob, I just had to comment because it made me laugh.

  7. YES! I also like the sign on the school on Narrow Lane that says "Now registering for kindargarden". Let me sign my kids up for that one!
