christmas photo cards - because everybody's doing it!

So, now that we have a little one in our family, we feel the pressure to send out photo cards for Christmas. {Ok really we just want to show off how cute she is. Isn't that why everyone does photo cards anyway? :) } This is the first year we have done Christmas cards at all, much less photo cards. So of course we're going with the old tried and true Shutterfly! We have used Shutterfly before for photo books, and of course we love them. They have a KAZILLION designs to choose from, and of course I'm having a hard time choosing the one I want! I probably should get on that pretty soon since it is now DECEMBER. :) Anyway, not only do I love Shutterfly's holiday card designs, they are upping the ante and doing a Holiday Card Promotion: 50 free cards for blogging about it! Free? Yes please!

What's great about Shutterfly is that they have so many products to choose from. Here are a few of my favorite products that they offer:

So what are you waiting for? Go shop there now!

feed your soul: fresh {free} art prints

I just found out about Feed Your Soul via Oh My! Handmade via Nesting Place. Feed Your Soul is an art project that features free downloadable prints from lots of artists. This is such a great idea, and I am lovin' some of these prints! Some of these would look fabulous in a nursery or kid's room! Go browse. NOW.

Here are a few of my faves:

{ I realized after I picked my faves that most of them feature birds. Yes, apparently I'm on THAT bandwagon right now. ;) }

my name is laura, and I am addicted to chapstick.

Yes, I have an addiction. Not to alcohol, or nicotine, or opiates. But to chapstick. My favorite scene in Napoleon Dynamite is when he called Kip and asked him to bring his chapstick because his "lips hurt really bad". I totally understand that. My lips really don't get chapped that often, but I just love the feeling of chapstick on them. So I have a stick at my desk (ok really two), one on my nightstand, one in my purse, one on my keychain, and several in my makeup bag.

So, considering this addiction, imagine my excitement when I walked to my desk this morning to find a co-worker with a large tub of chapsticks, passing them out to everyone in the office. It was like Christmas for me!! And when I got to my desk, she had given me THREE sticks! I hit the mother load. Apparently one of our producers wrote an account yesterday for Bahama Bo's, a distributor of sunblock, chapstick, and hand sanitizer. So I've been wearing this chapstick all morning and it is GREAT. I have no idea how much it costs in stores, but if you ever see it, pick one up! It's good stuff. It has aloe vera, beeswax, and vitamin E...and it has an SPF of 15.

Buy Bahama Bo's. It's da Bahama bomb! Sorry that was cheesy.
