english cottage & water chestnut
Do any of you know what those are? They are the most delightful shades of tan. And they will be featured the new home of Baron & myself. Yep, that's right - we picked our colors today. And our cabinets, and our hardware, and our carpet, and our brick...yadda yadda yadda. It was a lot of fun to visit Lowder New Homes' Design Center and mull over a million shades of tan and even more laminate countertop samples. You may think it sounds difficult to choose from such an array of options, but it actually wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. That is, until we got to the hardware. Good grief. There were fewer choices of hardware than there were paint colors, carpet samples, and countertop samples, but for some reason that was the one area that took us the longest. Perhaps it was because most of the hardware I liked most was an upgrade. And we all know that upgrades are the devil. Except for the brush nickel doorknobs. I mean, I can't believe brass doorknobs are still standard. Come on, Mr. Lowder. It's 2006. Anyway...so hopefully after next week, our home will be on its way to being constructed. We are so excited!!!

might as well face it...
...I'm addicted to TV. With season finales and some very exciting episodes this week, I have come to realize how much I enjoy television. I wouldn't go so far as to say I couldn't live without it, because Baron & I did that for one week a few weeks ago, but it definitely plays a big role in my life. I know, I know...I shouldn't spend so much time in front of the TV. Well, I really don't, at least not compared to other people. :-) Anyway, I thought I would make a list of my top 10 favorite shows on TV right now. Please understand that these are not my top 10 of all time - just the ones that are airing right now. Shows in syndication are not included.
#10 - Trading Spaces. I don't have time to watch this show as often as I used to, but whenever I'm at home sick or I have a day off, I definitely reserve the 3:00 pm time slot for it.
#9 - Law & Order: SVU. This is another one that I don't have as much time to watch as I used to, but I love it. And I really think Detective Stabler looks like Buddy Bell.
#8 - My Name is Earl. While not quite as funny as my #7 show, it definitely deserves a spot on my list. I mean, come on - who doesn't enjoy watching a redneck with a moustache running around with the guy from Remember the Titans and a dumb blonde who married a ghetto black guy?
#7 - The Office. OMGAH. I love Steve Carell. I think this show is appreciated more by those of us who work in an office. It's hilarious. There are no words to express how funny this show is to me.
#6 - Desperate Housewives. Ok, ok...so it's definitely not the most moral show I could be watching. But it is funny, and I like to make fun of the unnecessary drama that everyone causes on Wysteria Lane. Sometimes it's a little over the top for me, but the good parts outweigh the bad.
#5 - Medium. When I first started watching Medium, I didn't think Patricia Arquette was that great of an actress. Sometimes that still comes out in her performances, but overall I think she's great. And I just love the plots on the show. Kudos to the writers, who are obviously very creative.
#4 - House. Man, I LOVE this show. There's not much better than a British doctor with an insanely sarcastic personality. I can never get enough sarcasm in my life. (And no, that comment was not me being sarcastic.)
#3 - Grey's Anatomy. I just started watching Grey's in the second season, and I quickly became hooked. I hate that I missed the first season. This show is AWESOME! Especially now that Chris O'Donnell is on it. :-) Did y'all see the season finale? I mean, WOW.
#2 - American Idol. I have watched every season of American Idol except for the first one. When it first started, I thought it was just another reality show. Man, was I wrong. I've always loved talent shows, and this is like the best talent show in the world. (P.S. Vote for Taylor!! SOUL PATROL!!!)
#1 - Friends. Ok, so I know I said I was only listing shows that are currently airing, but I had to reserve my #1 spot for my favorite show of all time. I didn't become a devoted Friends fan until I got to college, and by then I was really hooked. I don't even have the words to express how much I love this show.
So, there you have them. My current top 10 TV shows. I'm sure it will change next season. There are many shows that were on my list last year that are not there anymore. (Ahem, ER...) I'd also like to give a shout out to Charter's Moxi, without whom I would not be able to watch my shows nearly as easily. The top 9 shows on my list have earned their right to be recorded on Moxi (except for Friends, because I have seasons 1-6 on DVD). Oh and thanks to Jamin & Ashley for convincing us to upgrade to digital cable & get Moxi. I mean, it's only like $15 more. Thanks guys!

So Baron & I just got back from a fun-filled trip to Disney World. This was only my second trip to the Happiest Place on Earth - my first being our honeymoon almost 2 years ago. I have decided that Disney World is now one of my favorite vacation spots. I cannot believe that I missed out on all that fun for the first 24 years of my life!
We stayed at the Shades of Green resort, which is a military resort operated by the Army. Our rip just happened to fall on my birthday, so that made it extra special. Anyway, instead of trying to tell you all about the trip, I am going to show you some pictures from our adventure. We will have a few more once we finish the roll on our disposable camera, so keep coming back to view the slideshow for new pics. Enjoy!!
