love offering

I want a dog.

Ever since we decided to move, I have looked forward to having a backyard so we could get a dog. I even planned to get one as soon as we moved. But Baron & I decided we really would like to have a fence in the backyard before we get a dog. So, before our house was finished, we kept expecting our neighbors to put up fences. We were hoping that all of our neighbors would fork out the money to fence in their backyards so that we wouldn't have to. Well, that hasn't happened. I keep thinking surely they will do it, since our neighbors on both sides have kids. If I had kids, I would definitely want a fence. Anyway, I'm starting to think that they are waiting for us to do the same thing. So now I have doggie fever and we can't get one until we get a fence. And we can't get a fence until we have the money. So, if anyone would like to make a donation to the "Build A Fence For The Goins Family So Laura Can Have A Dog" fund, please feel free to do so. All donations are welcome. :-)

Here are some pictures of some of the doggies I found on the websites for some of our local humane shelters. Aren't they adorable? How can you say no to these little faces? Send your money today. :-)

  1. Awwww, they are sooo cute!! It just so happens I have a fence you can have! It's not very attractive but it would hold in a doggie! Let me know if you want it! Heee, heee, heee!

  2. Check is in the mail! Hey wait, here is a better idea. Go to the animal shelter and get the meanest looking pit bull they have. Tie him to a stake in the middle of your back yard with a small rope. The neighbors with kids will put up fences this weekend. Then return the pit bull and pick out a furball.

  3. Too funny...

If the fence magically gets built, I know someone at church who is trying to find a good home for a puppy!

  4. If the fence fund proves to be a success, be on the lookout for the "buy the Goins a new car" fund, the "I'd love to have tickets to a Titans game" fund, and the ever popular "the Goins are collecting cash" fund :)

  6. This is what his email said..

A small (I’m guessing 4-6 month old) puppy has appeared on our doorstep and is in need of a good home. He’s a short-haired sandy-colored mix that appears to be clean and in relatively good health other than being very hungry and neglected. We are feeding and housing him for a few days until we can find him a home but cannot keep him very long. If you are interested, please let us know and we’ll send you some pictures. Please pass this along to anyone that you think might be interested.--Mark Young
