a moment of silence, please.

MAXIMA, Nissan, 15, resident of Prattville, Alabama, died on Thursday, March 8th, 2007. After suffering a severe breakdown on Interstate 65 North just before exit 179 on Wednesday, "Maxi" was officially pronounced dead at Roger's Automotive, suffering from a blown head gasket. Maxi can be seen at Roger's this week for visits from family and friends. Visitation will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Maxi is survived by her parents, Baron and Laura Goins, and brother Honda "Jaws" CR-V. Maxi will be buried at Seaman's Wrecker junkyard.

Yes, that's right. The Maxima is gone. She was my baby for 7 years before she bit the dust. So, we are currently in the market for a car to replace her. Please keep us in your prayers as we are about to gain a car payment, which is something we planned to avoid, hoping Maxi would last us long enough to save up for a car (which obviously didn't happen).

Special thanks to Brett & Judy for letting us borrow their Blazer!! They really saved us a lot of trouble. THANKS Y'ALL! :-)

  1. well said, well said...she will be missed. Sure she had no radio and only 2 windows (1 being the sunroof) still worked, but she was a good car. Thanks for the memories Maxi...you will be missed

  3. I found out after I saw you guys Thursday night that my Uncle Nip (Grandmama's brother) died March 8 also. He was 87 which is a little older than the Maxima in car years. Have you thought about a Mo-ped? Great gas mileage! And you are already used to not having a radio.

  4. I wish you the best during your period of mourning. Did you happen to save a small peice of her for a proper burial? Say... a door knob?

I know how you feel...my Altima has been on life support for weeks now. We're thinking about pulling the plug (sniff, sniff)

  10. My 11-year-old honda died a similar death around Christmas. After the mourning period, I got a new civic, and I love it!!! We got 40 miles to the gallon this weekend on our way to Nashville. I don't know what you are in the market for, but I thought I'd give you something to chew on. :)
