Zippy

I had an early ultrasound...I'm not sure why, but I'm guessing it's because we'd been trying for so long & my doctor thought it would make me happy. :-) Which it did! {Except for the fact that it was a vaginal ultrasound, which I will spare the details of but note that it is quite awkward.} We got to hear the baby's heartbeat & let me tell you, that is such a comforting sound! So here's a picture of our little Zippy, as my dad has nicknamed him/her, after the ZIP code character. {Thanks, Mr. Postman. :-)} Yes, it is just a small blob right now, but it's amazing to think that this little blob will one day be an entire human being! God's creation is so amazing.

  1. I know you must have been so ecstatic that they let you have an ultrasound. That heartbeat is one of the most reassuring sounds you could ever hear after you have waited so long. I am so happy for you!

  2. That is so cool! Doesn't it feel more real to finally get to see the baby and hear their heartbeat? Very exciting!

  4. Laura, I am SO happy for you!! Oh my gosh!! I was looking briefly at pics on Melissa Logue's facebook of a shower, I think for her sis, of Melissa with 2 other pregnant women. I thought that one of them was you, but it didn't hit me until after I got off the computer. So, now I'm checking your blog to see if it was you, and now I see it definitely was!! YAY!! God is so good!!! Can't wait to read all about the pregnancy! WE had an early ultrasound, too, at 6 weeks, and it looked about what yours does. Isn't it a huge comfort to already see the little baby this early?

  5. Just add that ultrasound to your list of "Things I do for my children". It only snowballs from here! ;)
